First 2010's entry :) 

Did you realise that the last three public holidays (Aidil Adha, Hijrah and Christmas) were all on Fridays? Even today, New Year falls on a Friday? If you didn't realise that, then maybe it's time for you to be aware of that. Speaking of Hijrah and New Year, I can see people have different views between both. Just take a look at your FB homepage. Some say 'What's with all the hype of New Year 2010, during Hijrah was not as hot as this?' I have to agree with that, there were pictures where I was tagged wishing happy 2010 but I didn't see people came up with that sort of pictures-tagging during the New Islamic Year.

Well, who's to blame? I just think that 1) some Muslims are being ignorance of the New Hijrah Year and I also think 2) some people are too ego to 'celebrate' or even say Happy 2010. 

The ego people are annoyed about how happening it is during this New Year 2010 celebration when compared to Hijrah. I can understand that but don't you think that the masihi year deserve a little appreciation from these ego sort of people? Afterall, you are using it everyday like your birthday, anniversary, father's day, mother's day, HIV day and any other ocassions such as our National Day is using the greek year too, we  have never celebrated our National Day using Hijrah date (only used as a 'coressponse to'). See.. I don't see anything wrong. Think of it just as a universal year. I may not be you know an 'alim-ulama' but this is my opinion because I'm the kind of guy who sees things and share with others. Little do they know that these people who say they don't wish or celebrate new year are actually celebrating it without realising it. As part of the New Year's celebration, most stores have this 'Year End Sale' as to celebrate the closing  year and ushering of the New Year. So technically, the money they have spent during the Sales are actually the celebration of the New Year. Bowh~

On the ignorance part - It's true! Some Muslims don't even know what Hijrah year we are in. Oh btw, it's 1431H. Some might think that this is sad, only few of the Muslims actually updated their status wishing the 1431H when compared to the hype world wide 2010 celebration. I don't think that is the sad thing to be sad about. It's the number of people who actually showed up at mosques or suraus during the Maal Hijrah. You can't just be someone who is against this non-islamic events and at the same time you don't do your part as a  true Muslim. Status doesn't mean a thing. You can type whatever you want, you can annoy people by updating your status every five minutes and so on. It's one's role that actually can make a difference.

Don't think that the grass on the other side is greener. Think that the grass on BOTH sides are always green. *Terms and conditions apply :P That's why I am always aware when new Hijrah year comes and at the same time just a minimal fun when celebrating New Year. It's still not too late to wish you all Selamat Menyambut Maal Hijrah and bagilah salam, Assalamualikum and kata-kata Bismilah when entering 2010.

Se Tues La Day Sa

I went out for two movies yesterday. In the afternoon, I went to watch Avatar and in the evening, went for TPATF which means (especially to Pytat) The Princess and The Frog. Both movies are beautiful in different kind of way.


First, Avatar! It was totally awesome dude! The graphic, the plot, the setting were all brilliantly produced. Here's a little bit about the movie. Jake, a paraplegic ex-marine, is brought to another planet called Pandora which is inhibited by the Na'vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. However, their planet has been under threat by the greedy people from Earth, which the Na'vi called 'The Sky People'. So in order for 'The Sky People' to be with the Na'vi, they have to be like them, a tall creature with blue skin. That's why they make an avatar for each qualified person.


If planet Pandora do exist, woww.. who wouldn't wanna go there? It's a beautiful place where the animals and palnts produce their own lights during night time. However, the animlas over there are very wild but still a nice place to live in. Oh yeah, Pandora has floating mountains while Earth has nothing but flying aeroplanes and helis carrying people from one place to another and at the same time polluting the environment.

Good movie. I didn't know it was gonna be a cartoon, so that turned me off a little bit. It's a typical fairy tale movie which ends with the prince marrying a poor girl and live happily ever after. Like other fairy tale stories, this movie also involves magic (such as vodoo), talking animals, hero is the prince. What makes this movie a bit special is that when the 'princess' kissed the frog, the frog didn't turn into a prince, instead the princess became a frog too. Then the story went on with the journey of the two frogs in a wild place to find a solution for them to change back to human. Along the journey, they made new friends and there were also some obstacles + the feeling of love started to bloom! Not to forget their other friend, Evangaline. Bintang yang dorang selalu buat wish and yg nda benama jadi benama tia.

Iq was right. This movie is membari garigitan. Hayyyyy gilaaa! Banar.. You should watch it. Just look at the poster below, meliat mua nya sudah membari kan meng-umph bah. Sok suci lah konon.

I don't wanna spoil the story line. Agatah membali di komunis meliat. Haha.. I recently watched the DVD at Dai's and at that time we were making a greeting video. I didn't focus the movie at first but towards the middle part.. wow!! the cruelty began. Imagine you adopted a kid who is a murderer and very clever in making others believe she is innocence. There's no tension between her and her step-father but there is a sharp as a tack tension between esther and the mother because only a mother could tell or feel if their children are in danger. Really? Btw, why would anyone name their child esther? That's alcohol + acid. Haha..

SANTAU

Halim and his family are blessed with happiness and wealth gained through his own growing business. On top of that, he has an understanding wife Nina who stands by his side and a lovely daughter named Tuti. Near Halim's home, there is an un-rented house. Ever since the neighbour moved out from that house, Tuti sees mysterious happenings until a point where Nina begins to experience weird incidents that have never happened before. Nina's character soon changes drastically, where she becomes a lazy and hot-tempered person. Halim does not believe Nina and Tuti's story on the existence of the paranormal until one night; Halim rushes home upon hearing his wife being possessed. It was okay and better than Jangan Tegur because in Jangan Tegur, I thought the husband or the actor was terrible, he had trouble pronouncing his words like antah.. lembik hayyyy kalau ia becakap. In Santau, the 'ghost' was an old woman which is VERY similar like the old woman in 'Drag me to hell'. That made me wondering during the movie. There were nine of us and surprisingly Filah was also there. Good job to Jau for forcing her to join.



It was a dead silence when suddenly Fyl screamed her lungs out seeing the 'ghost' shadow passing by. Haha.. everyone was laughing since she was the only one screaming during that part because that part was nothing to be screamed about. Like I said, just shadow passing by. I laughed really hard after that sampai kepanasan rasanya badan. Hayyy.. Safwan managed to come tough for this movie, he's not a big fan of this kind of movie but yes, he went through it after all but with his hands covering his eyes if not popcorn 90% of the time. Dai and Badtz were the two stuborns during the movie, Badtz couldn't keep his hands still, he just went on poking all of us even we were 4 or 5 seats away from him. Panjang tangan tah namanya tu while Dai, ia ani 2 x 5 jua menurut perintah si badtz, COULDN'T SAY NO to him. So she did what she Badtz told her to do. Not only that, her right hand was also annoying, she couldn't stop rubbing/pinching my thigh. Let me remind you, we are not muhrim. Hayyyy... Not just that, sometimes her hands suddenly slipping into 'my area'. I don't know if that was a honest mistake or an opportunity for her to touch things in the dark but please.. don't ever let your hands near 'my area' again.



Then after the movie, we went chilling at duii maaa... Mameh Beribi. At first, we couldn't decide where to eat so we ended up with the mameh one. Some of them wanted to eat at Kianggeh but thank god it was raining because I really don't wanna eat there, why go for something far when there are plenty of restaurants in Gadong since we were all in Gadong. I was hoping we could eat at McD and only to find out Fyl had the same idea too after eating at Mameh. I nda bunyi2 kan mau McD because some of them atu kan bediet2 segala. Suud nda makan, si Rafie pun nda makan jua, Si jau makan yang ringgan2 saja and si Dai atu sama jua, eksen saja makan sikit dapan kami... hmph tia jadinya.. and thanks to Suud for accidentally spilling his drink at me. Next time lagi we do that. Laps

Great movie. I watched it in the cinema next to a stranger who almost drank my hot Milo. Somehow during the movie, I thought that Rain resembled someone I know, Badtz. Haha.. It's funny but it's true. Damn you badt! Maybe because of the hair. Yeah.. The plot was interesting, there are many funny moments in between the serious scene. You should go watch it. I don't know how to describe about the movie. Lapss.. and one more thing, Dai hated the leading actress's voice, Naomie Harris or Mika because she thought Mika sounded like Donald Duck. Haha.. Couldn't agree more.

Plot:

Mary Horowitz is as you all know, a weekly crossword puzzle constructor for a newspaper in her town. She is kind of dorky, betty-like characters but weird and has more sense of fashion. One evening, her parents set her up on a blind date with a good looking guy, steve. She thinks that they're meant to be together so she follows Steve everywhere to prove that they're an item. Steve on the other hand thinks that she's crazy, following him criss crossing the country covering breaking news stories. Hmm what will happen between the two? Go watch it.

The fact that it is true~

I had a heated conversation di MSN just now. First we were talking about the guys who made it to the final of American Idol, they are; Adam Lambert and Kris Allen. My friend, a she, thinks that Kris Allen is cute. I disagree because I don't think he is cute but then I said, 'Someone like David Archuleta barutah consider as cute'. Then she said to me, 'Mun kau kekiutan lelaki gay tah ko tu'. I was like 'Whattttt??!!'. Ok, I do think that Archie is cute but does that make a guy who thinks another guy is cute is gay? If you do, you need a wake up call!! Tell me 3 good reasons why if a guy complementing the looks towards another guy is gay? What if a bini2 yang kelawaan bini2? Are they considered as gay also? It is common to hear a girl kelawaan kepada girl yg lain. Why not lelaki kebisaian terhadap the other guy? Nothing is wrong there~ It is a compliment of telling the same sex how good they actually look.

It is entirely true that if bini2 kehensaman lelaki and if di tanya nya arah her guy friend pasal lelaki yg ia kehensaman ani.. of course lelaki atu will say 'Emm.. nda jua' or 'Antah eh, aku lelaki' (padahal dalam hati kebisaian) or ada yg menjawab 'Ok' saja. There are two factors (that I can think of right now) contributing to why dorang (we guys) menjawab like that.

The first one, takut kana ucap gay. Well jarang jua lelaki kan memuji lelaki, iatah mun di puji kaum sejenis, timbul tia tu perkataan gay atu oleh rakan sebaya (specially kaum perempuan). Hayyy... Mun kana ucap, kana ucap laaah.. yang penting it's ur opinion, its ur voice.. no one should take that away from you.. mun takut atu, gay banar2 tah tu ertinya.. Biaktah becakap apa yg di rasa di hati keluar jua ke mulut. Jangan saja rasa di hati tapi keluar mulut lain. Nda salah kalau kan hanya memuji.

Secondly, ego. Taulah sudah lelaki ani kuat egonya.. mun ia kan menjawab soalan bini2 atu tadi.. confirm lah ia cakap 'nda hensem' pasal ia ego and kenapatah kawannya yg bini2 atu tadi lelaki lain tia pulang dipujinya, sedangkan diri ani yg duduk disebalahnya ani, yg lama udah kenal nda pun pernah kana puji2nya. Iatah tu catu rasanya.. Mun udah nda hensem atu, udah lah.. jgnth minta harap kan kana puji.

So, do you still think that if a guy kekiutan or kehensaman another guy di label sebagai gay? Then what if bini2 kelawaan another bini2? For me nda jua salah.. it's a compliment actually bukannya kan fall in love kejiwa deep into the heart. Woooo... Menampaaa.. Mentallllll!! So what do you think? True right?
